    Michel joined CapGen as Chairman after a 20 year career at Citigroup where he served as Vice Chairman of Citi Investment Bank and Global Chairman of Citi Private Bank.     Previously Michel was MD at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). He went on to join the Board of Nikko Securities in 1995 – the first non-Japanese person to do so. In 1998, Michel headed the negotiations leading to the creation of Nikko Salomon Smith Barney, today the Japanese arm of Citigroup. A graduate of Harvard Business School, Michel obtained a Masters of Business Administration in 1970. He also holds a BA from Harvard College. He has represented Britain in the Winter Olympics on three occasions, and is also a keen golfer and cyclist. Michel was born in Buckinghamshire and speaks six languages. He married Charlene Heineken in October 1983 and has five children. Michel is a Member of the Supervisory Board of Heineken NV, and an Executive Director of Heineken Holding NV.

    Khaled is the voice of the client within CapGen setting the standards he believes clients deserve. Having managed his own family money, Khaled is an experienced investor and has particular insight into the problems families face when trying to get the best from the investment management industry. Clients benefit hugely from Khaled's principled and commercial approach to investing and his commitment to ensuring that client portfolios are managed by people who think like principals not agents. Khaled chairs the Client Portfolio Committee which is tasked with making the final decisions on the content of client portfolios and sits on the Asset Allocation, Investment and Risk Committees. Khaled started his career as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company where he specialised in private equity. He has a degree in Law from Oxford University, a Masters in History from Harvard and an MBA (Dean’s List) from INSEAD.

    Ian manages CapGen to ensure that the firm continues to be a good investor and trustworthy partner for its clients. He is at the centre of ensuring that the firm’s steady growth allows it to retain and attract the best talent, and deploy the best technology: to invest our Clients portfolios. Having seen the inside of both public and private sector organisations, he understands the importance of both purpose and profit. A great firm needs both. He sits on all the firm’s decision taking committees. Ian began his career at Smith Barney Corporate Finance advising on structured finance and mergers & acquisitions. He also spent time in the British Army and the Diplomatic Service where he served in the UK and abroad. He has an MA in history from Oxford University and an MSc (Distinction) in Management from London Business School.

    Charlotte's focus is on maintaining excellence in the firm's external interactions - with clients, regulators and providers. Charlotte runs the mechanics of the firm and oversees the complexities of client take-on and marrying client needs to service delivery. She designed and developed the firm’s discretionary platform and the ongoing quality and standards of the firm’s output. Charlotte sits on the firm’s Risk Committee and sits on the Investment and Client Portfolio Committees. Charlotte began her career at HM Treasury where she advised both Conservative and Labour ministers on a range of policies including corporation tax, pensions and state aids. She also spent a year in Brussels working as a diplomat in the UK’s embassy to the European Commission and worked in policy at the then FSA. She has a degree in PPE from Oxford University.

    Hiroko plays a central role in CapGen’s due diligence process – all funds and investment opportunities are reviewed by Hiroko who brings her long experience as a funds lawyer to bear on the firm’s investment decisions. Hiroko’s role as General Counsel internally means she also contributes to client and regulatory questions. Before joining CapGen in 2013, Hiroko was a Senior Associate in the investment funds team at Proskauer Rose. She started her career at Travers Smith as an investment funds Associate. During her time in private practice, Hiroko acted for institutional investors into private equity, hedge and other alternative funds, direct co-investments and secondary transactions. She also acted for fund managers on the structuring and raising of private investment funds. Hiroko has a first class honours degree from King’s College London in Music, a postgraduate diploma in Law and qualified in 2006 as a Solicitor in England and Wales.

    Robert uses his experience and passion for investing and financial markets, along with his problem solving skills, to lead the investment team at CapGen. Robert is Chief Investment Officer, running all aspects of investment across the portfolios, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, investment research and selection. Robert has developed leading investment ideas and research at CapGen, including the firm's proprietary asset allocation model. Robert sits on the Investment, Client Portfolio and Asset Allocation Committees. He started his career at Merrill Lynch where he structured and executed solutions for client portfolios across all asset classes using cash securities and derivatives. Robert has a double first class Master of Mathematics degree from Oxford University and has a Masters of Finance degree from Cambridge University where he won the Director's Prize for graduating with the overall top mark. He is also a CFA® charterholder and holds the FRM designation from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

    Ross joined CapGen in June 2019 to lead our commercial real estate investment proposition. He joined us from Capital Real Estate Partners LLP where he was Partner for seven years. Before this, Ross spent 13 years at Jones Lang LaSalle where he began as Graduate Surveyor, eventually rising to European Director. Over his career, he has covered the UK commercial real estate market with a particular focus on Central London. His skills include product origination, deal execution and business plan implementation through focused asset management. During his tenure at Jones Lang LaSalle and Capital Real Estate Partners, he completed sales and acquisitions worth over £17bn in over 200 transactions. He graduated from the University of Reading with a first class degree in Land Management and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Prior to this, Richard held positions at UBS Investment Bank, JP Morgan Cazenove and Robert Fleming & Co. Richard has an Economics, Banking & Finance degree from Cardiff University.

    Sharon oversees the firm's accounts function and the firm's regulatory reporting responsibilities. She also leads the office management and HR function. Prior to joining CapGen in 2006, Sharon worked in the finance function at Capital Event Marketing, Bravado International, Designhouse Consultants and Fisher Productions where she was responsible for accounts with a turnover of up to £20million. Before this, she worked as Group Finance Manager of the accounts department at ZGC Group where she managed the cash flow and oversaw the ledgers, cash books and credit control.

    Clare runs the CapGen client development function, working with trustees, consultants and family office executives to match clients' requirements with the investment services of the firm. Before joining CapGen in 2013, Clare was a Business Development Manager for Northern Trust’s Wealth Management Group in EMEA. Prior to that she worked at Brown Brothers Harriman as a Relationship Manager working with large fund manager clients across Europe. Clare studied English and Related Literatures at York University.
