Ben joined CapGen in February 2022 to lead the firm’s direct investments business. He uses his extensive private equity experience to support clients with all aspects of their direct investment activities, from investment strategy to deal arranging, asset management and exit advice. Ben has 25 years of experience in the private equity industry, most recently at Cornerstone Corporate Finance where he was a partner for 11 years. Prior to this he led the European private equity arm of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and was a partner at HgCapital. He also spent time in the leveraged finance team at Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank). Ben has been involved in over 50 private equity transactions across a range of sectors and deal sizes, whether as a lender, an investor or an advisor. He has a degree in Psychology from Durham University and is a qualified chartered accountant.
